What to Paint at George Poston

George Poston is the largest park in Gaston County at almost 350 acres. The big draw is a beautifully wooded lake with multiple coves and plenty of aquatic plants. There is a great fishing dock right off the main parking lot, that offers great views. It's especially lovely in the morning, with hazy misty views over the water.

Plein Air Painting Experiences at George Poston

I've been to George Poston multiple times and it never disappoints. The lake area has a great combination of plants, trees, with a dock area to get an even better view. While the dock area isn't shaded, there are built in benches and often friendly fishermen. Just be careful that you don't drop a brush between the planks! If you follow the trails at the park, there are additional more wooded and shaded areas around the lake.
